01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Stockton, Groundstack Coffee is far more than your average coffee shop—it’s a vibrant community hub with a clear passion for genuinely exceptional coffee. Located conveniently at 3210 Pacific Ave, this cozy spot invites coffee lovers and casual visitors alike to indulge in a thoughtfully crafted menu that goes beyond the typical cup.

Groundstack Coffee stands out for its unique beverages, particularly their revitalizing refreshers infused with green coffee extracts. These natural energy boosters, such as the Peach Mango, Watermelon Cucumber Mint, and Strawberry Açaí, deliver bright, invigorating flavors that awaken the senses without overwhelming them. Priced at $9.20 each, these drinks are a delightful departure from standard café fare, blending refreshing fruit profiles with a subtle, natural caffeine kick.

But the offerings don’t stop there. The bakery section at Groundstack reads like a love letter to traditional and artisanal pastries. Whether it’s the flaky, buttery Croissants (including Almond and Chocolate varieties) or the comforting warmth of a Cinnamon Roll or Morning Bun, each item is freshly baked, inviting you to savor the moment. The Blueberry Scone and vegan Morning Muffin add thoughtful variety for different tastes and dietary preferences. At prices ranging from $4.60 to $6.00, these treats perfectly complement the exceptional coffee experience.

Speaking of coffee, Groundstack’s pure, meticulously brewed selections have earned raving reviews from locals. Jennifer Evans praises the noticeable, authentic coffee flavor that “actually wakes you up,” appreciating the natural ingredients and creative customizations like adding lavender or honey. Matthew’s testimonial highlights the “pure” taste of the in-house cold brews, especially the Sunset blend, which delivers an unexpected warmth and chocolate undertone rare in cold coffee offerings. Many customers mention personalized service, with knowledgeable baristas guiding newcomers like Melody Boron to bold, no-sweetener options such as the "hammered" coffee.

The atmosphere here adds an extra layer of appeal. Groundstack is clean, inviting, and thoughtfully designed—complete with games and a free library that encourage visitors to linger, connect, or unwind. Families and friends find it welcoming, as noted by Eleanor Sarmiento and Genesis Barrow, who appreciate the friendly staff, intriguing coffee flavors, and the overall ambiance that balances rich aromas without overwhelming those who may be less caffeinated-inclined.

If you’re in Stockton and craving more than just a quick caffeine fix, Groundstack Coffee offers an experience that excites the palate, fuels the day naturally, and feels like a warm conversation with your favorite barista. Whether you’re diving into a bold cold brew or pairing a perfectly flaky almond croissant with a refreshing peach mango drink, every visit promises to leave you feeling energized and genuinely cared for.

I had the Sunset coldbrew recommended by the barista. Dude was really friendly and had a good knowledge of what they offer. It was really an excellent coffee. It’s hard to put into words but it tasted very pure. Coldbrews are made in house. Despite being a coldbrew, it had a nice warmth to the flavor that reminded me of how a coffeeshop typically smells. The chocolate came through nicely without being overwhelming. I substituted oatmilk. I got a large for $7, and it was definitely worth it. Also he informed me that UoP students get a discount here! Plenty of seating, Wifi, and outlets. Check it out! Parking is diagonal street parking by the storefront.

I enjoyed the Thornton's Thorn coffee with oat milk. The shop smells so good, but was still tolerable for my non-coffee liking father. It is very clean and there are games and a free library to check out. I look forward to trying one of their sandwiches one day.

I love the ambiance of this shop! The employees are all so helpful and friendly. I got a hot drink- Ben’s Fave. It’s super flavorful, which is surprising to me cause I’ve never had aeropress coffee. I think aeropressing the coffee brings out the flavor of the beans and the ingredients used cause I can definitely taste all the flavor notes. I will definitely come back to try out the paninis and the refresher drinks!
